"Let the Orphaned Girl be Empowered" is an empowerment and reproductive health education for the marginalized girls in Ghana.
The event was an initiative of The Butterfly Effect's projects to implement the Sustainable Development Goal 3 and to ensure that girls across the country are empowered to know their self-worth, inspire self-confidence, build self-esteem, friendships, nutritional health and integrity in the heart of our girls. The project was to help the orphaned girl discover their individual identity and creative gifts by developing qualities that will help them become leaders and contributing members in society, to offer them safe spaces to interact in an atmosphere of mutual respect.
The event was made up of three path ways; mentorship and sensitization session, reproductive and menstrual health education session, basic principles of entrepreneurship. SOAR Global Foundation partnered with the Butterfly Effect team to educate the girls on the importance of reading. The Director of SOAR Global Foundation gave a short talk and the girls were engaged in a general knowledge quiz session with book gifts for every correct answer.
This project forms part of SOAR Global Foundation’s children mentorship and empowerment projects and are very grateful to The Butterfly Effect for making it possible for the two organizations to work together.
