As part of our Let-them-read project, the SOAR Global team visited the Children’s ward of Korle Bu Teaching Hospital in Accra, Ghana. A reading room was set up in the ward and decorated with balloons, masks and garlands by the team. The kids were brought into the room by the nurses and were read to, sang to and engaged in reading and acting activities generated from some of the books. The team also sang, prayed and read to immobile kids who couldn’t come to the reading room. It was a fun atmosphere with parents and relatives of the kids joining in the singing and praying activities. The program ended successfully with wards requesting the team to come back often.
